.AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES WILL EXCEED 105 DEGREES ACROSS THE
MIDSOUTH TODAY...PEAKING DURING THE MID AFTERNOON. HEAT INDICES
MAY AGAIN EXCEED 105 DEGREES SUNDAY...DEPENDING ON COVERAGE AND
LOCATION OF AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS. A HEAT ADVISORY FOR SUNDAY MAY
BE ISSUED AT A LATER TIME.

EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEMPHIS HAS ISSUED A HEAT
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM CDT THIS
EVENING.

• HEAT INDEX READINGS...105 TO 110 DEGREES.

• TIMING...HEAT INDICES WILL PEAK BETWEEN 2 PM CDT AND 5 PM CDT.

• IMPACTS...THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY
WILL CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES ARE
POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED. TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME
OUTSIDE. WHEN POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY
MORNING OR EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT
EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING
CLOTHING WHEN POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. CHECK UP ON
RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK...THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
