  • Upgraded the Weather data program (Weather Display) for the Weather Station to version 10.37O build 25.

  • Added more indepth information for barometer and trend on the Index page.
  • Removed Moon and Sun rise and set time from the Index page and replaced with, Humidity, Humidex, Dew Point and Wet Bulb readings. Moved the Moon and Sun rise and set time to the High/Low/Avg page.
  • Added Observations to the High/Low/Avg page.
  • Cosmetic changes made to most textual pages - added a lighter colored background for easier reading.
  • Upgraded the NOAA Advisories/Alerts/Warnings "Advisory Page" script, again, for upcoming NOAA alert feeds. This was a maintenance upgrade to allow the repair of some minor bugs.

  • Updated code on the Index page to show accurate "Feels Like" temperature.
  • Updated code on the Index page to show accurate "Last Tip" in rain/snow area. This was done to have both date and time show as opposed to having a blank if rain was not received within the current date.
  • Corrected coding on the Printable Weather Flyer page so the weather synopsis displays correctly.
  • Changed date code so all Advisories/Watches/Warnings displayed with 24 hour time format as opposed to standard US format on the Area Weather Warnings & Advisories page.
28 Sep. 2009: Made the following updates & enhancements to the Website:
  • Remade some additional forecast icons to a more cleaner and realistic looking skies.
  • Fixed coding on Printable Weather Flyer page so correct current conditions area printed accurately. When reformatting page did not update code so old information was being constantly displayed.

Additionally the information is tweeted as issued. If interested simple send a request with your email address or your messaging address of your cell phone using the Contact Us form.

30 Mar. 2009: Built a housing for the Thermo-Hygro Sensor and hung it away from house further. Since this time Temperature/Humidity/Dewpoint readings have stabilized to 96% accuracy as compared to other local PWS and both the Morgantown (KMGW) and Pittsburgh (KPIT) METARs. Accuracy has been improved to the point that the NWS has now agreed to check station and certify it.
21 Mar. 2009: Made the following enhancements to the Website:

Also displaying current month, as well as all-time records in one page since station's inception on 11 Oct. 2008. Current information also updates every few seconds like the main display on the index page.
  • NOAA GOES Satellite Loops page under "Radar - Nat. WX. Serv." menu tab for Western CONUS.

Interesting Weather Facts
TORNADO FACT
Largest and most severe: The Super Outbreak: 148 tornadoes occurred in a span of 16 hours from 3-4 April 1974. They affected 13 US states and Ontario, Canada, and included 24 F4s and 6 F5s, more F5s than have been reported in any other year, until 2011. Until 2011, more significant tornadoes occurred during that 24 hours than any other entire week on record. However, the outbreak of tornadic acticity in 2011 is again being classified as a Super Outbreak. On 27 April 2011 alone, 197 tornadoes were spawned. An unprecedented total of 748 tornadoes spawned in April 2011 alone. The hardest hit was Joplin, MO. (04-22-2011 - EF5). 344 tornadoes were spawned between 25-28 April 2011. Of the 344 tornadoes, 15 were classified as EF4 or greater including the Tuscaloosa, AL (04-27-2011 - EF4) tornado.
