455 AM CDT WED AUG 20 2014 AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD OVER THE REGION WEDNESDAY ALLOWING FOR CLEAR SKIES AND VERY HOT CONDITIONS. HIGHS IN THE MID TO UPPER 90S TODAY COMBINED WITH DEWPOINTS IN THE LOWER 70S WILL CAUSE FOR HEAT INDEX VALUES TO EXCEED 105 DEGREES IN NORTH EAST ARKANSAS... THE MISSOURI BOOT HEEL... AND IN LOCATIONS IN NORTH MISSISSIPPI AND WEST TENNESSEE CLOSER TO THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. THE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE WILL CONTINUE TO IMPACT OUR WEATHER THROUGH THE WEEKEND CAUSING US TO SEE SOME OF THE WARMEST DAYS IN TWO YEARS THROUGHOUT THE MIDSOUTH. HIGHS WILL INCREASE TO NEAR 100 DEGREES ON FRIDAY... SATURDAY...AND SUNDAY WITH LOWS ONLY FALLING TO THE LOW TO MID 70S. RAIN CHANCES WILL INCREASE EARLY NEXT WEEK AS THE RIDGE SHIFTS EAST AND RETURN FLOW FROM THE GULF INCREASES MOISTURE.
