WEBSITE AND/OR WEATHER STATION UPDATES/UPGRADES
2015

25 November 2015: Made the following enhancements to the Website:
  • NOTICE: The outdoor camera server has failed and we are working to resolve/repair it as quickly as possible to put the camera images back online. This does not effect the SKYCAM camera.
  • NOTICE: The GRLevel3 Radar images are occasionally updating as the GRLevel3 software also resided on the same server as the outdoor cameras. However, another computer is being temporarily used to service that part of the site and should update fairly frequently. When weather is of concern in the immediate area, focus will be made to keep images updating.
  • Updated a few scripts to latest versions.
  • Updated the Weather Display Program to Version 10.37R Build 302.
  • Completely redesigned the Tropical Weather page. Added Tropical forecasts and discussions for both the Atlantic and Pacific coast lines of the US, including the Carribean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico via RSS feed from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) as well as images.
  • Again, updated the area forecast script to allow for dual icons to properly show and parse. See previous update entry below for full explaination
10 July 2015: Made the following enhancements to the Website:
  • Updated a few scripts to latest versions.
  • Updated the Weather Display Program to Version 10.37R Build 281.
  • Added the capability to display "Dual Icons." If weather is subject to change significantly during any 12 hour period the NWS will advise 2 separate conditions for that period. This results in a dual icon showing the change. EXAMPLE: The forecast is for mostly sunny in the morning than changing over to thundershowers in the afternoon would result in a split icon showing SUNNY on the 1st half and T-Storms on the second half. This will also be reflected in the summary text below the icon. EXAMPLE 2: The Forecast is for ice in the Early evening changing over to all snow by early morning would result in the 1st half of the icon showing ice and the second half showing snow. Again, this would also be reflected in the summary text below the icon.
27 June 2015: Made the following enhancements to the Website:
  • Updated a few scripts to latest versions.
  • Updated the Weather Display Program to Version 10.37R Build 277.
01 April 2015: Made the following enhancements to the Website:
  • Updated a few scripts to latest versions.
  • Updated the Weather Display Program to Version 10.37R Build 253.
  • Due to the NWS moving to HTTP 1.1 today, and without any prior warning I had to rework numerous pages to be able to load area forecasts, summaries etc. This caused a serious degradation on the page and seriously slowing down image loads etc. This problem appears to be resolved now with the hope all affected pages have been caught and code re-worked. We apologize for the inconvenience for the poor page loads.
16 February 2015: Made the following enhancements to the Website:
  • Updated a few scripts to latest versions.
  • Updated the Weather Display Program to Version 10.37R Build 247.

ADVISORIES
A statement generally provides additional or follow up information to an existing weather condition. An advisory is for less serious conditions that cause significant inconvenience and, if caution is not exercised, could lead to situations that may threaten life and/or property. A watch is used when the risk of a hazardous weather event has increased significantly, but its occurrence, locations, and/or timing is still uncertain. It is intended to provide advance notice of possible inclement weather. A warning is used for conditions posing an immediate threat to life or property. Depending on the type of warning, you should take immediate, appropriate action.
